Can anyone tell me as I am a novice cyclist how much difference does the carbon seat post make

Having tried both it makes alot of difference to comfort i found especially with our atrocious roads in this country. Not sure about the weight saving and that of thats what your after but for comfort id say your under carriage will thank you for it.
