The loop keys work much better than the universal ones - less chance of rounding the spoke nipple.
But you do need to know the size before you buy.

What wheels do you have? I have the '11 Synapse and it came with Shimano RS10 wheels fitted which use oversized nipples. I've got a Crank Brothers multitool with 3 sizes of spoke key on it and the #3 fits. However it was a pain in the butt to use as the bladed spokes were being rotated and getting trapped in the slot. I then I found using an adjustable spanner [with a slotted piece of wood to hold the blade in more or less the correct position] was easier. I bought a Park Tools key for my commute bike and that was lovely to use (round spokes, 4 sided spoke key) and I believe the SW-3 from Park Tools would do the job (it's 3.96mm size and the RS10 spoke nipples are 4mm IIRC).
