I’ve read in a number of places its wise to carry a few spare spokes, I guess there are numerous and are wheel specifi.

i have never needed or fitted a spoke in 10s of thousands of miles but I’m planning a LEJOG next year and reguly undertake 3/4 day tours.

i use my gravel bike with G1800 DT Swiss 700C wheel. Is it possible to buy a few spokes and where from?

Most bike shops should be able to source the correct size spokes for you.

It's ok carrying spare spokes but practice changing one on the hoof before you go. Depends on the hub too....some are doable out on the road and some aren't. I'd save actually changing the spoke until you reach your overnight stop. You may, depending on the hub, need to remove the rotor and cassette so not a five minute job especially if the weather's inclement and you'll need a chain whip and locking tool. It's unlikely to happen but if you want to cover all bases you'll be carrying quite a few tools.

I've been riding around for a few months with a few spokes missing.... probably done 1000miles +

The wheel stripped down at the moment, I might replace them.

My local propper bike shop has spokes in stock and will gladly sell them in singles.

This is a new one on me. Never heard of it.

They've been round for years. Like Sharky I've never used one but from various reviews they would be my choice to carry.

just watched a YT of someone who used the Fibre Fix Emergency Replacement Spoke, definitely looks like the best option

I carry spare spokes when touring, if one breaks it can wait the rest of the day, but generally easy enough to replace at accommodation. Only problem ones might be on cassette side of the rear wheel.
I broke a couple of spokes in France a few years ago on that side, so found a local bike shop to remove the cassette for me. Saved the bike shop trying to get the right sized spoke.
