Hey all
I'm currently trying to organise a charity bike ride from Bristol to Le Mans via Portsmouth.
I've kind of got the route from Bristol to Portsmouth sorted (starting at Bitton railway station then going via stone henge and stopping at a park nearish to the ferry port)
The problem I have is the routes out of Le'Havre south towards lemans. Once I’ve got out of Le’Havre its not too bad (avoid dual carriageways and motorways) it’s just the initial route from the ferry port (or nearest safe place to stop and unload the bikes) south. I know that you can cycle up the Pont de Normandie and really want to do this as part of the ride.
Can anyone help with routes from the ferry port? Once out of the port and avoided the tolls it shouldn’t be too bad as no motorways on the route I have in mind its just leaving Le'Havre.
if anyone is interested in joining in on this then let me know, it is self funded (so contribution towards petrol, ferry costs and accommodation would need to be paid before the event) then any sponsorship money raised goes straight to the charity of your choice! If anyone has any experience of organising an event like this then please let me know as I do have questions!! Lol.
Thanks for your help
