I love to see great sportsmanship....what great acts of sportsmanship stand out for...For me two examples stand out...Jimmy White lost 6 World Snooker finals but was amazingly sporting in everyone..When Tom Watson just missed out in winning the Open in 2009 at nearly 60 years of age...not everyone likes Golf but that must have been a hell of a disappointment to him but he was very sporting to the eventual winner in the playoff...just sheer class in anyones book and a great example to everyone that plays competitive sport...looking forward to some interesting replies.

Paolo Di Canio playing for West Ham against Everton. The Everton goalkeeper was injured and lying on the ground and Di Canio caught the ball and stopped play when he would almost certainly have scored a goal.

Wasn't there some German ping-ponger in the last Olympics who was awarded a point and then said no, he shouldn't have been given it? Had a brief attempt at googling it without success, but I'm pretty sure I heard something along those lines.

Felipe Massa after the 2008 Brazillian GP. Nobody will ever come so close to winning a world title only to have it slip through his fingers at the 11.9999th hour ever again yet he was very pragmatic about it.

Final day 1969 Ryder Cup. Jack Niclaus vs Tony Jacklin in the singles.
Niclaus had just sunk a put leaving Jacklin with a miss-able put to lose the game and the whole Ryder Cup. Niclaus just picked up Jacklin's marker and threw it to Jacklin with the words 'I don't think you would have missed that putt, but under these circumstances I would never give you the opportunity,'

Sheer class
