squeaky chain

my chain is ridiculously squeeky at the moment, but i don't think its due to a lack of oil/lube as it only squeeks on the big ring, but is fine on the much less worn small ring on the front

is it possible that the squeek is being caused by a very worn large chain ring??

Not sure if this is the answer to your question, but I've just replaced the Truvativ Elita chainset for a Tiagra one and the whole drivetrain seems infinitely quieter.

On my boardman is a truvativ elita and i do get squeaks, maybe thats the culprit although my shoes/cleats squeak on that side also.
