Have you actually bothered reading the thread?

Yeah, just saying that although it is illegal the likelyhood of the original poster making a sucsessful prosecution from his video of a driver is unlikley, though he'd be quite just. It wasn't a personal critisism, just a comment ;)

no one actually has said that couple in the earlier daily mail article were prosecuted . I'm interested to know... they deserved to be

Basically people in general don't give a stuff about anyone else. Community spirit is gone, respect is gone. We're in an 'I'm alright jack' situation.
So cars will hurtle through water with no regard because it makes them feel good to give everyone the finger. It's the same mentality as not signalling left on approaching a roundabout. No-one will do anything about it, so why should they care a toss.

In the last floods I was driving through deep water when some tosser in a 4x4 flew through the other way. The resultant plume of water went clean over the roofs of every car there. Until there's someone on the roads these people fear it will get worse.
Cameras aren't scarey any more.

That's it. Rant over. Time for toast n a cuppa :cuppa:

Just had a look at the video. A bit dark but you can see he was going to fast through the water.
The water just missed me because I heard him approaching and I slowed down before the water.

The thing is I caught him up later at the junction and got a good shot of his reg number.

I will probably post the vid to my site on Sunday.

It is one of the examples given in the CPS guidance on the 'driving without reasonable consideration' offence.
(glad i rechecked the thread, was gunna repost  )

Definately stick up the video, it's stupid driving and if you've evidence, then report?

My mum and stepdad once got soaked by some idiot doing this. they had to walk back to the house drenched, fecking great, two doddery old duffers soaked to the skin by a clot...

mind you, on my old commute, there used to be a puddle at one point , all the time... normally there'd be noone there and you'd drive either thru or round...

but every so often, there was a gang of kids who'd be there waving hands.....so i'd go through for them ;) ( not too fast, just enough so they could leap back...)
