Changed last year. There is now a one way system introduced down the hill to the left. The left hand lane where the driver flies from is supposed to be for that (or so I have been told by the council). The annoying thing is I am kind of forced into using this ring road for a while due to the closure of my usual route.

I can't wait for self driving google cars to stop this nonsense from happening.. or flying bikes..

Realistically when the driver realied they'd made a cock-up they should have braked and pulled in behind me. No way they could have missed me with the 70 lumen rear light flashing away...

What a poorly designed road layout. Coming into the lights, two lanes clearly indicated as straight on. Coming out if the lights, 3 lanes with 2 straight on and 1 left only. From one point of view, the left straight on lane coming into the lights would line up with the middle straight on lane coming out of lights. I may have to watch the video again.

Watched it again and it could be said you cut the driver off. No indication or signage that would inform anyone that the left straight one lane does not link up to the middle straight on lane after the light.

Please inform your council that their road designer is an idiot.

Have already done so in more polite language LOL. When I first rode that I did similar to the driver but realised drivers were taking the middle lane to head into the ring road and had to carefully merge back in. The driver in the video came from some distance back and wasnt with me at the lights when I waited for green or when I set off.

Dangerous and confusing. I think I would stay in the left lane on approach which would lead into the middle lane on exiting the lights.
Whichever lane you are in, someone will likely take you out!!
