Small and nicely fatty joint of beef from Booths, rosti potatoes, cabbage garnished with a little yoghurt and some mixed herbs. Onion gravy made with the meat juice and the veg stock. Glass of red.
Corned Beef Hash tonight in industrial quantities so some is saved for the freezer but if I was having steak it'd be fillet, thick, rare and have some Roquefort on the top.
Steak. Same as Greedo. Same as last Sunday. And the 2 before that. There is a traditon of ships cooks doing steak on Sunday on pretty much every merchant ship I've ever worked on. It's almost a religious thing.
I had a sushi-fest this evening made with nori, wasabi, yellow fin tuna, cucumber and spring onion. Complete with japanese ginger and soy, and miso soup. Nom nom nom. I could eat it until it came out of my ears!
I'm about to have a bowmore and a mince pie as my only alcohol this weekend.
