Steel, Aluminium, Carbon-Fibre or none of the above?

For your bike frame and forks ...

Personally I love Carbon Fibre - as light as Alumnium but with in-built shock-absorbtion. I got an MTB with a CF frame - fell in love and went and bought a road bike with CF frame and forks ... so light and fast! I'm definitely a weight weeny.

No heavy clunky old steel frame nonsense, like my grandpa used to ride!

I crashed my CF road bike the other day, scratched my hand to buggery, and my knee .... gave the bike a thorough inspection ... perfectly unharmed

Of course I haven't had it X-rayed! Tsk ...

Anyways, I figure that if my CF-framed moutain bike is able to take the kind of hammering that I throw at it (and I do hammer the crap out of it), my road bike will have no problems!

So you have no idea how many stress points are cracked internally and are about to fail.

Aye, I'm sure my bikes are both riddled with cracks and carbon worm! I've crashed my CF MTB loads of times and it hasn't fallen apart yet!

I'm sure it's exactly the same frame, so you'll have no worries.

I made a frame out of rolled-up baking foil. It's Al, like lots of road bikes, so I figure it'll be fine.
