My 2012 Genesis Croix de Fer is my do it all workhorse with it's disc brakes providing reassuring braking in the wet weather. However I've recently noticed rusty coloured water streaks coming from the fork legs and chain stays. Is this normal for steel bikes. I changed the bottom bracket this summer and there was no sign of any rust in there. Should I be taking any anti rust measures or is it the case of it would take so long for any rust to weaken the frame it doesn't matter. Any thoughts?

There is a product named "Frame Saver". It comes in a spray tin and I suspect it is probably a form of Waxoil. It will hang around longer than spray oil. Either way, don't leave the bike sat on the best carpet for a while!
