Have been waiting for a call from my local bike shop, I tested my new Trek 7.3 FX on Saturday, and have had to wait until now for them to put a rack and mudguards on it.

I just had a call from them saying that they have no black racks and wont be getting any in till Monday, so would I like silver ones instead. I think putting silver ones on would make it look horrible, they always look cheap, so have decided to wait. ;)

What's the longest you have had to wait for your new bike?

Spent this long waiting for it because they are really busy, booking a slot may take ages again. It's better to wait to have it done. Oh well, I can use the trike until then.

Can't you fit the rack and mudguards yourself?

EDIT: Forgot to answer the original question

I had a very frustrating wait for my Galaxy. I think it ended up arriving a month later than they originally said so about a couple of months in total.

Not hard to fit a rack - just a few bolts......

I had to wait since January till May for my fixed - most of it was waiting for the CTW scheme to go ahead, but when that was done, there was about 4-5 weeks to get the frame sorted, then a week to get it built.

Funny, I think just the opposite, silver racks look much better. I can't remember off hand, I think my hack has a black rack (I only look at it all day every day! Check for photo, yes, it's black), but the FCR and Galaxy are silver - the FCR rear end is silver, so black would look rubbish....

As for waiting for a bike - it's been several months now waiting for the Galaxy frame;) and that's after a couple of years in bits after it was stripped. Fair enough though, it's been done free, and I hardly need it urgently...

From the day I signed up for C2W to the day my bike arrived was approx 4 months. 4 long agonising months, while the sun was shining and there was no traffic on the roads i sat and waited... and waited...

xx(

Got it now though!!!111!!1

It seems a bit silly to buy it without and go to a different bike shop to get the rack and mudguards.

Doctor,

Glad to hear you will be getting a replacement and fingers crossed it'll be a speedy process.

Personally not had to wait for a bike any great length of time, it did take a while for my fixed, but that was because i decided to strip the frame to bare metal and then rattle can it (in my kitchen). Finally assembly was probably a couple of months after initially sourcing all the bit.

Waiting months for my new one - mind you I'm building it myself so I guess there's only me to blame....lazy git!

There's an American bike builder called Richard Sachs, makes lovely bikes but I did read you have to wait about 4-5 years - gasp! bit like the Morgan of the bike world.

Placed an order for a Dawes Horizon on the 7th of April and eventualy canceled on the last day of May after being informed that Wiggle's supplier can no longer supply the bike. Am now hoping to get one through the C2W scheme so I have given up hoping to spend some of this summer touring and have put it on hold until next summer.

It looks like Spa Cycles have them in stock but they're charging full wack which is unusual for them. Might be worth giving them a ring.
