rising tide of crime

After having my bike stolen I read in an old CTC mag that the number of thefts rockets at this time of year to feed the demand of students starting their new academic year at college.

Also the cycletowork scheme has created rich picking for thieves. Plus of course the cost of bike components has rocketed so a bike is worth substantially less than the sum of its parts.

Lets hope they get them back. I have had at least 4 bikes stolen over the years, so I know exacttly how they feel.
Im so paranoid these days im constantly checking the security of my garage.
