I am driving to Avignon with friends. As the drive is a long way we are looking for a recommendation on a stop over point..we will be travelling the Reims,Troyes,Dijon motorway direction as the AA says thats the quickest..As its about 8 hrs drive we are looking to travel about halfway..A nice campsite or village hotel not to far off the main roads but far enough for nice scenery would be great to stop over in and recharge the batteries. Any good recommendations would be welcome..
Were not sure which route to travel home yet but all recommendations of where to travel and stay would be great Thanks

OK, assuming you're driving from Calais, half-way is going to put you around Chaumont or Langres.
I'd then get onto booking.com with your dates and you should be home and dry.

The best thing to do is to get off the motorway when you are ready to stop and head for any small village close by where you will find a small family run hotel/auberge/restaurant. At this time of the year, there will be plenty of rooms. No need for books or apps.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
