"I'd rather you have an affair than buy one of those."

Such a desperate comment was spawned by my wife spotting this month's copy of 'Classic Tractor'

I'll not be committing adultery. A half decent Massey Ferguson 35 is cheaper to maintain than a half decent woman.

I reckon the drive is just wide enough - once I move the gate posts.

Just think ....

With bikes, they're hidden away. So she doesn't have to explain to the neighbours about your interests.

With one of these on the drive (it's for sale locally btw), she's got some explaining to do about her strange husband:

Me? My neighbours already know I'm odd - there's a nice Saab convertible on the drive yet I use one of 4 bikes instead.

It would be a good accompaniment to my Lister D stationary petrol engine, my BSA 110v generator, and potentially a Wolseley WD stationary petrol engine complete with a sheep shearing rig.

How much is the tractor going for?

Just curious

@vernon - it's the closest I could fine on eBay and is £4500 on a classified ad: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Massey-Fe...s_AgriculturalVehicles_SM&hash=item25758d3672

With a bit of a look, this one sold for £2100 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/massey-fe...K_BOI_FarmingEquipment_RL&hash=item3ccafc2c67 and this is currently £1900 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Massey-Fe...s_AgriculturalVehicles_SM&hash=item2575e12f28 so some negotiation might bring it down

And no, I don't want a tractor. An ice cream van, well that'd be something different altogether.

There are some real gems of vintage tractors in the Limousin. Only they don't call them vintage, they are just tractors.

(Sadly, the big boys are moving into some areas and bringing intensive farming and modern plant although it's not good arable land. Too acidic)
