Stronglight Chainrings

There is no gamble, I have two on my bike, an inner and an outer on a triple. So long as it's not for a middle that'll do the job nicely.

They're functional, not sure they're quite up to ultegra standard, I bought 34t and 48t rings to replace the rings on an old tiagra chainset, shifting performance is a little bit more laboured but that's all.

The Stronglight ones I have don't have the pins and funny teeth that help move the chain about, so front shifting is a little slower. OTOH they were cheap and long lasting. I'd buy them again.

Agree with the slightly slower, less positive shifting with Durals, but unless you're racing or need instant, snappy shifting, its really not an issue. The Durals are really quite long lasting for the price as well.

Stronglight Zircal have all the shifting pins and ramps, and they look better than TA. That's the ones I have on my best bike. Some lovely machining on them too.
