I thought "Grave of the Fireflies" was heart-rending. I think a lot of Ghibli films are emotionally genuine. Mind you, "Wall-E" has it's moments.

I'm staying not far from Globalti's for the next few days - if it's any help for you fellas ??

Hello Stephenite!

I haven't heard from Globalti yet, but am sure I'd like it. Don't know how much he wants for it; I'll check the site tomorrow for an update. We're on our way to Oslo now - our paths kind of crossed.

See what happens and I'll be in touch, hopefully.

Thanks, and I'll look into the name of spinning bloke!

I was just looking through the thread to see if someone had mentioned 'Grave', like you say its genuinely heart wrenching. I'd agree with what you say about Wall-E too, esp the first half or so of the movie when its just him/Eve.

No. They all have a Japanese vocal cast in the originals but many of them had English vocal versions done with a Hollywood cast (who will generally be Americans). Ghibli have never made an English-language film.

Sorry, I meant I was looking for a British voiceover rather than American (which can grate sometimes)

Sorry Davyo - are you still interested in Nasu? Better send me a PM and we'll get chatting.

Howl's Moving Castle is on Film 4 right now.

Edit: Actually just checked and there's a season of Ghilbi on.
