I've seen this a couple of times recently. Some stupid pigeon decides it is bored and is going to fly along the road. The other day it popped out of the trees and thankfully I was tired and going a bit slower otherwise I'd of had pigeon arse in my mouth.

This morning, pigeon flys out of a tree and can only just out accelerate the massive lorry which is about to plough right into it. Worst thing is - these darn pigeons aren't insured so the lorry wouldn't of been able to claim for it breaking his windscreen .

Anyone else experienced some stupid pideons recently? I wonder if I'll of caught the pigeon on video

Not really. I remember once though when me and a mate were out on our motorbikes - my mate was riding an old BSA SS80 and he lent down to fiddle with something just as a bird flew out of a hedge and into the space where his head would have been. It was a real comedy moment but my mate was oblivious

i posted this a while ago...

"I was going home down goodge st in London last month.
Speeding past the normal flock of pigeons eating vomit on the road.
Just as I'm going past one " WALKS" under my wheels!!!!!
This was out side a pub with loads of punters on the pavement.
I heard the crunch of the bird and the " oh my god did you see that" from the punters.
Couldn't really stop until the lights, cyclist pills up beside me and I look at him, he just nods and does the"slitty thoat" sign.
I felt reaaly bad about it and gave double helpings of bread to the wood pidgeons in the garden that night.
I guess 23 mm tyres at about 18mph make short work of kamakazi pidgeons"

so now i give them a wiiiide berth!

The Bristol pigeons don't seem to want to get out of the way. I've had a couple this week that just casually side step as I'm nearly on top of them.

Pigeons playing chicken? B)

Pheasants are worse. No road sense whatever, and a habit of flying low (about hub-height) and straight across your path. And they're heavy. Certainly there's one fairly busy road I know in Sussex that cuts right across a large game estate, and I think the chick-rearing pens are close by the road, judging by the number of 'encounters' and amount of roadkill. Occasionally I've passed a guy there who I think is the local gamekeeper: have been tempted to stop and have a moan at him, but he does carry a gun...B)

And don't start me on about peacocks. Seems to be an increasingly popular pet, for those who like that sort of thing...
