Just realised my work diary is empty, weather is good, and I could do 3 day tour round the Isle of Wight. Leave Tues morning (tomorrow), back Thurs night

Any recommendations as to perfect stealth camping locations (cliff top?) or nice campsites (as few caravans as possible)

decided not to. Four days of hard training for Ironman including a 6h30 100 mile ride on Sunday seems to have taken it out of me. So lounging at home

I've stayed in a couple of campsites on the IoW - Iirc one was the Sandlands camping club site. There seems to be plenty of choice of decent sites.

The Lymington-Yarmouth ferry makes a good place to start. (I can't believe jay clock is going somewhere that doesn't involve flying - or maybe he has found a way to fly to the IoW;-)

There's more to the IoW tham the round-the-island route! Head inland as well ( although some of the best views are accessible only by bridleway).

EDIT: probably too late, but the YHA at Totland Bay has a good location:

I think TiT was swooning at my 100 miles on Sunday! I am glad I chose not to got to the IOW in the end - my legs were knackered. Had a superb sports massage yesterday and today was well enough for a long run. This Ironman mallarkey is getting in the way of touring!
