Hi all,

Just thought I would pop in and say hi,

I found this site by chance, and from the browsing I have done appears that you have a nice friendly forum here...

I have been cycling for only 9 months or so, and as a man that turned the big 40 last year, I am using my cycling as a ways and means to get fit and drop a few pounds (or as my good lady wife calls it, my mid-life crisis!)

Anyways, I ride nothing flash, it is a 2006 Giant Halo OCR, but it suits me just fine for the moment. I am getting into the endurance events/sportives. So far I have completed two events. The Beccles 50 and the Norwich 100 and I now have the bug to ride more. Hence searching the web for places to find out about up and coming events in my area.

Regards
Paul

Welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy your mid-life crisis as much as I'm enjoying mine.

I suppose I should warn you that Audax is highly addictive. You start off thinking ... 100 km, that sounds perfectly do-able, even pleasant for a summer Sunday, then before you know it, you've learned to decode the arcane language of the route-sheet, plumbed the mysteries of GPS and start discussing the merits of dynamo versus battery lighting for winter 200 kms because you HAVE TO go for a RRTY.
Then of course it's on to SR and LEL or PBP. You have been warned !
