Hi all,

Just bagged my third munro today. Done Ben Lomond and boy was it hot :becool:. The sun shone all day with hardly a breath of wind. Arms and legs are a bit red! Got up (tourist route) in 2 hours 15 mins and down (ptarmigan) in 2 hours. Not setting the heather on fire by any stretch of the imagination but I'm pleased with it. Went through 4.5 litres of fluids and could have had more.

FTFY, if you blinked you missed it

Can't say I'm too impressed with the cyclepath. ;)

Been a cracking day in Aberdeen too. Had a walk on the beach around the Don and am now sporting a slightly red face. Do chemists here actually bother to stock suncream?

I had my honeymoon in the Scottish Highlands. July '95. Fort William, Inverness, Skye. 3 weeks. Rained once when in Skye. Other than that, hot as. Bloody midges, though.

Only Rained Once, I don't believe you ;)

Midges, I believe that ;)

Arrived home a week ago today after 2 glorious weeks just outside Fort William. It drizzled 2 mornings, the rest of the fortnight was gorgeous. Millions of midges but they didnt even give me a sideways glance  i absolutely LOVE Scotland

User9609 my first munroes wereBen Lawers and Beinn Ghlas. They were done on a similar day with stunning views from the top. Never forget your first munro!

Weeding the patio today was a bit of a let down after yesterday though .

Honeymoon in Scotland - riding along the Caledonian canal towpath, lovely warm sunny July day - new Mrs Gti and I decided to stop in a meadow to, er, commune with nature. It didn't turn out as romantic and spontaneous as we thought though because within five minutes every insect and midge in the meadow was buzzing around us. We left in a hurry and were grateful to get moving on the bikes again.

I thought this thread was going to be about the opening, north of the border, of an Anne Summers emporium, purveyor of finest lingerie.
