Hi, could anyone tell me if there is on street parking available around the Hyde Park area of London on a Sunday? More a question of does it exist at all rather than expecting anyone to give me detailed maps etc. I've read that most parking restrictions are lifted on Sundays apart from residential parking spaces and thatost single yellow line areas are open to parking. I'm going on Sunday for a triathlon. Due to my wave start time I need to be in the park by 6am. We have a tall van for a wheelchair user in the family which is above the height restriction of all of the multi story car parks near by. The only car park possible opens at 8am when I will already be in the water. We're staying with friends about half an hours drive away and there is no public transport I can get from their house at that time of day. If on street parking exists I'll plump for that as I'll be there around 5.30am so hopefully won't be too busy. Happy to pay to park.

Personally I'd never even consider trying to park in central London, Sunday or any other day.
If no public transport available at 05.30 then I'd look at a mini cab into town

Or, if you are doing a triathlon, what's wrong with cycling to the start ?

From memory all the free parking gets taken up early Saturday evening so getting as spot on Sunday will be a stroke of luck . Things may have changed though .

Thanks for the replies. I've been given a tip off and got a spot on the forecourt of a commercial property. I did consider cycling in but it turns out we're staying 30 miles away via motorway, not 30 min. It would help if I posted the correct information. With all my kit, not knowing the way, it being dark and me not being able to get lights on my TT bike and all the other excuses I can come up with I'd prefer to drive in this case.

Thanks both, I appreciate the responses.

I've parked on Picadilly in the past, along side Green Park.
I think it fills up with picture sellers that hang their wares on the railings but if you are early you should get a spot.
