..didn't know they existed until today, is this a new thing or have I just not noticed?

Unfortunately wasn't expecting it until Monday/Tuesday so wasn't in to take it but was surprised to get the email telling me about the 'attempted delivery'

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I didn't know they did sunday deliveries until today either. I received a delivery from DPD bright and early. Its a great service. And I received an email to tell me when my item was going to ge delivered.

As good as it is to get Sunday deliveries it falls down a little when they first send an email saying they will deliver on Tuesday, and then turn up on the Sunday though ^_^

Seems to be a strange system, another parcel was delivered yesterday after initially saying next Thursday

We had one today whilst we were out. They left it at our 'neighbour'. I only found out because thankfully they emailed me to say they had left it with neighbour abc at house xyz. Shame they are not actually my neighbour and I have had to walk the entire length of our lane looking for a house name that is frequently muddled with ours and then finding a house 2 doors down from that one where my parcel was left... At least the person who lives next door to the house that gets muddles with ours now knows where we live, but if I had not looked at that email I would have never known that my parcel had been left 1/2 mile away!

I wondered that too. I run an online business and quite a lot of people get things delivered to their work address these days anyway.
Me too. Many companies don't allow it though. Sunday deliveries are helpful as are these amazon
Lockers and newsagents that accept them. Delivered ti a tube station would be great.

You'll find it's generally the companies that outsource their deliveries, in essence the deliverer is self employed. So, they choose to deliver when it suits them, not just 5 days a week 9-5.

I think it's really good. So long as there's not an expectation that if they deliver on a sunday and you're not in, then you have to collect from some depot.
