You'll find it's generally the companies that outsource their deliveries, in essence the deliverer is self employed. So, they choose to deliver when it suits them, not just 5 days a week 9-5.

I think it's really good. So long as there's not an expectation that if they deliver on a sunday and you're not in, then you have to collect from some depot.
Good point, apparently they will re-try delivery tomorrow

MyHermes don't charge extra for Saturday or Sunday.
They won't deliver my size of my parcels.

Always struck me as strange that they do not run 7 days a week with all that infrastructure which must be a large part of the overhead cost dormant at the weekends, plus much more likely to get that first strike delivery.

Unionised at some point in the chain?

Actually thinking about it a lot of drivers are owner drivers or franchised. So the vans are not on site and driver probably do not want to do 7 day weeks. So not sure how they are doing the weekends doubt the uptake has been big for Sunday. If I did send an emergency Saturday you can almost guarantee a early AM delivery as they must have only a few to deliver.
