Probably hovered around -1 on my 30km ride today, stayed relativly low and hung onto a sunny main road along the valley.
Accounting for a bit now as it's silly season for MrsHD.
Fire is on with furry animals hogging the warmth, also just has a snow flurry.

I've come proper croppers on icy roads, so am distinctly cautious these days... won't go out under 3C, and even then will check if there's been a sharp overnight freeze that might have caused the type of ice that caught me out good and proper on a main road where water had been running across it through the night.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
In work for 7 am for four hours for pre start up line fill , roll on double bubble . Glad i have the app to warm the car and defrost the windscreen so i dont have to muck about in the cold , tomorrow is planned as a cycle commute day but if the road look dangerous i will bail and i have already told the family as im not risking country lanes before dawn if i cant see the ice .
Just done a weights session on the multi gym and physio on the knee , i did want to do a zwift session but fitting it around family and early bed time means its unlikely ,

- 4 c in the towns tonight - 7 c in the lanes for me .Roads looked clear earlier but we shall see if we have anything silly overnight as there were a few flakes of the fluffy stuff earlier on .

The only ride I will do when it's silly cold is the main roads into Exeter, which get thoroughly salted as it's a main route into the RD&E hospital, and it's flat. A friend was saying that they've not been salting the bike path by the canal (they did last year), and it's proper icy.

Having watched that video on here that someone posted where the whole group came down, the result being one fractured femur and that was black ice at 5 degrees. So if it’s anywhere near freezing the biggest risk I take cycling wise is walking across to the garage to use the turbo.
