I hope we can have as many members join us in our group to complete this years Great North Bike Ride ... I think the best place to amass together would be next to the registraition table in the car park at seahouses.

I'll be wearing number 1677 so fellow members can have something to look out for there along side fellow CC member Annedonnelly... I also hope to take a number of photos of the group before we set off (crimewatchUK will be happy at the mug shots) lol

There will be no set pace to complete the course, so if you wish to head off at your own pace then you're more than welcome to do so.

I'll have with me a number of tools and repair kits already fitted to my bike as well as a couple of spare innertubes (just incase) for anyone to use if they need too.

Hope we have a fun day

I was considering going, but it costs £35 and I would prefer to put that money to going clipless, or getting lessons so I don't have to cycle on the path anymore.

Yeah, it's a fair amount of money for a youngster. Maybe we'll see you next year, Sam.

P.S. Just get on the road and take no notice of anyone who hassles you:bicycle:

Sorry we missed you!

Sorry Mik, CorvetteChic and Chonkers - we couldn't find you in Seahouses. I hadn't realised there would be so many people there!

I hope you all had a good day.

NormanD and I did - the last ten miles were hard though!

And a big thanks to Norman for sticking to my (slow) pace, for trying to keep the wind off me and for keeping an eye out for traffic.

See you next year

Yes it was difficult trying to find anyone at the start and the finish of the event although I was looking out for numbers along the way.

Anne what slow pace? .. you set a good one all the way and a real pleasure to have you along side as a cycling partner ... that head wind was a bit tough but it was a nice day for cycling.

Roll on next year I really enjoyed the event

Yes it was a very enjoyable event and I'll be there next year too ... Chonkers you're right it was bedlam at the start and trying to find anyone was near impossible with the amount of people there, myself and Anne tried in vaine to spot any numbers we had written down.

The only worst part was cycling home from the priory as I hit strong head winds and driving rain after the event, but I covered 74 miles that day which really pleased me ... I hope Anne had a nice tail wind cycling home again to blyth.

I must thank Anne again, you battled through the last ten miles and you never gave up ... much respect to you my friend ;)

On a sad note one of the cyclists did pass away near the start, it's belived he already suffered with health problems ... I send my regards to his family and friends.

Heres to next year and I hope we can all get together, we have a year to organise it ;)

Congrats to all who completed the course
