I'm (re)reading a book at the moment about the space race, and in it they talk about the astronaughts momentarily experiencing 10g as they were caught by the atmosphere when returning from the moon as they needed to slow down from 25.000mph
It occured to me that if a man weighs 10 stone, that makes him somewhere near 100 stone at that point, and that is going to be something like a 50 stone person sat on his chest - or is that face - no wonder the black out in the centrifuges
Jeez, after watching that program, that is a terrifying prospect
