RE: Canyon
I had considered an Ultimate CF and was chatting to somebody from my club the other week who has an AL for Winter and CF for Summer. He rates both highly and says getting the entire bike would be much better value and I'm inclined to agree. Part of me CBA to build another bike. Bargain tactic would be the Supersix Apex and flog the grouppo (less the chainset & bb) & wheels.... 1200 and whatever I get back from those would be a net spend of around 800-900 ish...

BTW - I went all the way to Evans Ldn Bridge at lunch. Waste of time - barely anything of interest in there!

Fancy frame or complete bike, you know the former will cost you more but if this is a special treat then why not? Considering the overall transformation you've done for yourself then a special treat seems like the order of the day to me.

I had considered many things from Ribbles to Roses, Cervelos to Canyons

In the end... there was only ever the Supersix!
Didn't order an Evo (Pedro was right - I can't justify the extra). So, just the normal one

Apex version was too good an offer to turn down and as I have Rival shifers sitting there doing nowt - I plan on switching out the Apex kit for lighter bits and flogging them to recoup some of my spend. Wheels will go too, so net spend should be a shade under a grand, if it works out. I prefer the decals on the Apex variant vs 105, with the grey logo instead of white on the top of the downtube. Hopefully, with my Braccianos (and possible RED chainset upgrade), it should come in close to 7kg or so...?

I long for the day when I can buy only one part* for a bike that costs over 50% more that my wholly built bike.

*OK, technically it's more that one part but you get the gist.
