Welcome to the future, although this one's performance oriented rather than commuter.

I rode an automatic 3-speed hub geared bike on honeymoon last year. It was actually pretty cool and well suited to its purpose, which was pootling around the vineyards drinking wine. Would also be good for a flattish commute I reckon.
