hey people.

so my bike has these weird forks, ill post up pictures if needed. i notice that they bend when i brake even the slightest, at the point where the two (is pistons the right word?) slide into the cylinders.

i spoke to my dad about it cause he is a hydraulic engineer and he said its pretty normal so i didn't argue (unusual for me lol).

im a little concerned as one of my previous bikes, fitted with OEM forks, the disc brake side actually snapped under heavy braking - im worried this may do the same after showing similar signs?

old bike - 2-3 years back:

Top part (stanchions) slide into the lowers through bushings, when these wareout you will get movement. Get them serviced.

As a general rule, the more expensive (high quality components, probably) the fork the less flex, unless they’re lightweight racing types.

What's your bike and what are your forks? Certainly there's flex in both of my son's bikes but they are at the cheaper end of the scale when it comes to forks.

There is no sign of any brand, they've been customized to take disc brakes, and they definitely didn't come with the bike new, they look far too expensive!
