Sustainable transport official run-over

YACF reporting that the civil servant in Scotland responsible for sustainable transport has been run-over by a lorry breaking her leg.

Hope she is not too badly hurt.

Could this have ramifications for government policies towards cyclists?

Unfortunate for the lady concerned and I hope she recovers well, but I really doubt it will have any affect on the governemnt attitude to cycling and cyclists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've not heard much about it, I don't think its even on the local news. Seems strange to say this but it seems like she had a lucky escape. That road is very close to me, its not part of my commute more a leisure route, its a bit to flat for my liking and busy, I've got bored of it.

That road's even closer to me, though I've only ever ridden it when I've been collecting a bike from Halfrauds. It's extremely busy, and very badly pot-holed.

Hope she gets better soon.

(I had a scary overtake by an artic from Aberdeen along Ferry Road this morning. Not enough room for him to do so, but he overtook. There's nothing like seeing what seems like an endless number of big wheels passing you within inches of your right arm to almost merit a brown-tights moment. However, this idiot's actions were later negated by the perfect driving of the ADM Milling tanker drivers. I've never seen better examples of textbook good behaviour around cyclists. They even indicate when they're pulling back in after overtaking !! You never see ANYONE else doing that nowadays.)
