Hello there

I'm a tourer/commuter thinking of doing some audax and faster rides this summer.
I've a pinarello FP1 Tiagra
Last month the bike fell  and now there's small crack on the top bar and even though I'm riding it I've been looking to get it replaced.
So I'm thinking of swapping the Tiagra groupset onto the Tifosi Ck3 frameset.
They seem compatible to me but wondering if anyone thought otherwise
Much appreciated
Nicki

With the front mech, you will need to check, braze-on or band-on. Then if you find both frames are band-on, you will need to check fo they take the same clamp diameter.

You will also want to check the bottom bracket type.

I know they have the same front mech clamp diameter but hadn't considered braze on vs clamp could be an issue.

Thanks a lot for the info

It will be obvious if it is braze on vs clamp on, if as you say, they have the same front mech clamp diameter, this suggests both are clamp on frames and that the mech will fit fine! A braze on mech doesn't have a clamp, it bolts onto a tab mounted directly on the frame!

I have but the bike itself was under £1,500 and along with the crack there's a dent and I think if I can swap with a tifosi i can possibly go one size smaller because in hindsight, my reach is too long.
anyway, so there are a few factors to consider
I presume you ride an a s-works..

Thanks Rob. Turns out the BB on the Tifosi is BSA not italian thread.

Hi there
Having thought of it a bit more, it won't hurt to get an opinion.
Do you know anyone around the greater London area that welds?

Ryan at oak Cycles .. http://www.oakcycles.com
The quality of his brazing and welding is pretty good.

Not used Ryan myself but his work seems to be pretty reasonable, give him a call and have a chat. The find some local car body shop and have the bike painted in a bespoke colour,... candy apple appeals to me for some reason.
Take it as an opportunity to make your bike really unique.
