I and a friend are off in July to Gevena with my camper van and plan to ride around 3 of the swiss Lakes. Lake Geneva, Annecy and Bourget. We plan to 'follow' the geneva sportive route round Geneva. Annecy is quite simple to plan too - the west side has a lovely cycle path, but we're not too sure about Bourget.
I've been in and out of Chambery airport a few times, and am only to well aware of the col of to the west of the lake. I notice on Google maps that there is a road up the western side of the lake (it's inside the D914). Not only will it give better views, but a more agreeable gradient :-) But would it be ok on a road bike?
Has anyone here been on it, or indeed got any tips for whilst we are in the general area.
