tacx paste on stem.

hello, I have a clicking noise on stem. my steerer tube is carbon. I have put some tacx assembly paste in the area where my stem clamps onto the steerer tube. the noise has gone but I am unsure of the safety side of this. will it be ok or can I expect the steerer tube to move when I'm doing 40mph downhill?
