I rode the trail on my own a few months ago and am doing it again next week with some work friends on MTBs.
Last time from Torpantau down (heading south) I followed the route 8 signs and came down the very steep forestry track made of stone and gravel. Not a pleasant experience on a hybrid with road tyres.
I have spoken to other people who have carried on along the path which is a better way down winding down ,easier more pleasant riding.
I would like to go that way this time but dont want to lead my friends astray .Anyone ridden it lately and can confirm that the path is OK?
The barrier is across the track that drops straight down into the valley.Off to the right you can see the path I have been talking about.
