Just a thought but when asking people to complete a survey for a commercial enterprise, offering an incentive as a gesture of thanks for participating, even if only modest, might encourage contributions.

Your form doesn't seem to like my answer to question three. It'll not let me go any further.

What can you offer, that can't be done by the individual who is willing to sit down and work a route out?

Just had a second attempt, again Q3 answer not accepted. Can go no further.

Hopefully you'll not be relying on the answers to your survey, because it ain't working with honest answers.

I stopped at the question about how much I'd pay.....
Because I've no idea what you're offering.
Is it full on road riding with sag wagons, mechanics etc. or leisurely touring?
Is there a leader or guide or is it self guiding?
Accommodation levels?

You really need to make it clear at the start what type of "product" you are offering.

^^^^^ This. Call me picky but I have no idea what a 'Cycling package holiday service' is so I can't answer question one. I also found the number of unnecessary capital letters offputting.

Hi all,

Thank you for your feedback it is genuinely appreciated, I hope to develop and produce a service which really encapsulates riders needs and desires in relation to an affordable cycling holiday in the UK. I’m fully aware that this isn’t a new idea, however with consumer feedback I hope to create a standout service which will highlight the amazing cycling we have here in the UK!

In relation to the survey not working so well, I’ll hopefully have it fully working in the next hour.

This is the early stages of a long process and your feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

A few random points...
. a service which really encapsulates riders needs and desires in relation to an affordable cycling holiday in the UK
Give me 10 cyclists and I'll give you (at least) 10 needs & 10 more desires.

Off the top of my head I can think of
  • ACA mixed group guided tours in the U.S
  • International mixed group tour companies specialised in out of the way places - full support provided
  • Individual closed group guided tours
  • Boat and bike tours (more boat than bike)
  • Ebike tours
  • Road bike tours, mixed & closed group,
  • Self guided, recreational tours of 3 - 14 days.
I'm sure the UK cycling organisations do tours also.

If you're in the early stages of doing research remove your company name, logo etc. It will reflect poorly in the future.

If I was you I'd be mining the Touring forum and searching for information elsewhere on the site about cycling holidays. When I had decided the segments I was interested in pursuing then (with the permission of the site operators) I'd be doing a more targeted survey, or more likely surveys.
I still have no idea if you're offering something for aspiring professional level riders or the nuclear family to explore some canals. General questions trying to cover all bases will just turn people off replying.

You should also bear in mind that your ideal market may not see themselves as cyclists and may not be present on the forum!

I'm assuming you're a cyclist yourself? Are you a member here? If not, why not? Why not introduce yourself, build some relationships.

Good luck!
