Taking bike on holiday

Hello,

I have recently purchased a new bike and am clueless about even the most rudimentary basics so I am going on a course to teach me how to fix punctures, look after gears, brakes etc. The absolute basics which, to my shame, I don;t know anything about. But, as well as this, I would like to take the bike on holiday to Spain next month with me so would need to know how to dismantle the bike to a sufficient level to get it on a plane. How involved/hard would that be for someone such as myself who, at the moment, has no idea how to do something like that?
