interesting documentary on the wireless tonight about match fixing etc. Focussed on footie of course, and also tennis. The latter as it's easy to throw a game, being a mainly singleton sport.

Strikes me that cycling is similar in many ways, and with the TDF etc attracting massive betting activity across the globe, there must be people trying to swing results?

Any suspicions, experience or thoughts from anyone?

England losing to Holland at cricket!

With cricket being a numbers game probably more than any other sport, it's very easy to get run out for a certain score on spread betting. Or to drop a catch, and so on.

'wireless'... now there's a good word. Used to mean 'a radio type thingy' as in your example, now means 'that bloody stupid way of getting the internet from your hall to your computer which makes you pull your hair out".

Oh God, d'you know I'd never thought of that before. Probably on account of the fact that the BT Homohub I have in the office is so bloody unreliable.

Campaign for real Wireless Useage is what we need. CAMWU.

Agreed. 4 years ago I used to have +5 bars on my phone signal and no problems with my wireless LAN. Hardly any other WLAN's about either.

Now, do a scan in my area and you find at least 20 Wireless LANS in range. Mostly BT "homo hubs" (I will use this term from now on ;)) and Sky Broadband. Usually on conflicting channels. Suffice to say I have now wired up the whole house with Cat5e because WLAN and my mobile, are useless.

What's BT's solution? Extend the range. Thanks BT!
