This morning I drove to Gatwick to pick someone up, and stupidly forgot the parking ticket in the machine after paying for it. It had gone by the time I got back to the machine, doh!
Anyway, I pitch up at the short-term parking exit and customer services, and they whipped up the car on video from a search on my license plate, and had me on my way within minutes. Pretty cool service - I didn't have to pay anything, just fill out a form. No doubt they checked it was me driving from the video.
I just really like how technology can work like this in a positive sense, although I slightly fear how it could be used against enemies of the state.
