I went to the National gallery for an hour 'or so' this morning. Not much point in seeing the Seurat but I was taken by the '
Academy' style paintings Eduard Gaertner and the sketch without people - just buildings, and Menzel's view of the (Tuilleries? - I think) Fab observation...and oh so much to see. The nice person with a smile who served me a double expresso helped too - as did the many touch-screen PC stations where one can peruse and plan. (No point me trying to follow a course though

).
