My friend has just dipped her toast in a cup of tea, and then slurped tea as she ate the toast.

Is this normal?

My Grandad used to dip bread in milk - and that was bad enough to watch.

I have occasionally done it with coffee, but not for a while now.

Never with tea, as I don't drink tea in the morning when I have toast.

The French like to dip jam-smeared toast in their bowls of hot chocolate, which I found equally weird when I was a kid.

And the Swedes like jam on their cheese at breakfast whilst they drink some seriously 'off' milk (it looks like milk you've left out of the fridge for a week, and it's all clotty and looks like it has separated).

Toast in tea sounds almost civilised in comparison !

Wouldn't the Marmite on your toast make your tea taste funny, you wouldn't have toast without Marmite would you?
