Well done.

I think the Morris 8 body was the basis for the MGYB that I used to have.

You had that!? I never saw that picture before!

I guess the Matador and Land Rovers slightly overshadowed it..;)

It looks like the sort of car Top Cat would slide down the wheel arch of...^_^

Yup, there are probably quite a few of my previous 20 cars that I haven't told you all about yet.^_^

Anyway, here is proof a photo of me and my Y type. It did need restoring though.

The glasses, long hair and silly shirt date it a bit....

I'm pretty sure you're right. Just put in a different engine, lengthen and restyle the front end and you can sell a cheap car to a whole different market.

Good job they don't do that now.... oh, hang on a minute.
I think the engine was from a Morris 10.

MG had a habit of using Austin, Morris and Rover cars to adapt and re-badge as their own.

I didn't have the chance to restore it myself and sold it prior to leaving London.
The new owner recently forward me work in progress photos.

It's looking good! Is that a broom handle across the chassis in the middle picture?

More and more I think I'd like a project one day, when I have some spare money...

I hope NT thinks this is good news, bearing in mind it's his driveway I'd be clogging up....

Ummm, depends on what it is dearest, and how big!;)

I think that might be a broom stick for alignment or something.

I really wish I had been able to keep the YB, and the Matador, to work on, both had so much more character then many of the other cars I had.

Oooh, double wishbone front suspension and rack & pinion steering. I wish the Morris had those.
I think they were quite sporty, for saloons, in their day. And also luxurious.
Mine had leather seats, walnut dash and door cappings, a heater, a rear window roller blind and a built in jacking system for lifting an end, or a side, or the whole car off the ground.
