Of course there will be an affordable replica top... it will come from China :becool:

Oh my god are you even real or some new advanced prototype trollbot sent from the future? I've seen you get offended by someone in another thread making assumptions about you recently (re: Snowdon), and I backed you up on that - but when it comes to Rapha you go right on and make similar assumptions because someone has a bit of kit from, shock horror, a particular cycle clothing manufacturer. What are you even doing in this thread anyway?

chill Winston - it's just the internet and I'm not actually being rude to you...

Don't worry about me, I'm not angry in the slightest, I just dont understand the sort of tribal defensive mentality people subscribe to- wether its Bay City Rollers vs The Osmonds, City or United, or what strangers on the Internet like to wear. I'm just glad I don't have to ride with people who feel they have a right to judge me based on my clothes. The only bright side of it all is if I can work, pay my mortgage, raise my family, eat well, and still have enough money left over to spend on a Rapha jacket should I choose to, there must be a measure of success in my life when compared to all the people on this forum who feel obligated to invert snobbery in order to feel good about their own lot.

Hmm - you're not doing much to dispel the stereotypes there. It doesn't really have much to do with success, although that argument is usually the default defence whenever Rapha wearers feel threatened. "I wear Rapha coz I'm considerably richer than you - ergo, you don't wear Rapha coz you obviously can't afford it."

For the record, my kit choices come down to value, not price tag. As someone said earlier, the Chinese will be knocking out quality copies shortly after the team kit is unveiled anyway...

Well, more importantly it comes down to what each person perceives as good value. I've got kit from all sorts of places, some good, some bad, and I'm by no means a head to toe in Rapha like some Porsche owner with the bomber jacket. For me, the price of Rapha is at best "steep", but not prohibitively so. I've certainly got more expensive gear that I like wearing less in any case, and some stuff I've tried just doesn't cut it for me, like the shoes. Anyway, as I said this issue has been done to death, by people in both camps. I try to place myself in the middle of them, it's just a brand and I wear whatever I like, and couldn't care less what anyone else wears if they're happy in it.

Noticed in the photo of Wiggo in the newspapers the other day that he was wearing an Assos winter top with his team sky / adidas gilet on top
