Those awfully nice people at Terra Nova have created a calendar of tent shows for this year - it only includes the shows they are going to be at, but even so it looks pretty comprehensive. Obviously they don't say which other manufacturers are going to be there.

Most of these are the shows organised by Cotswold Outdoor, so expect a good portion of their range to be on display;

There will be an exhibition of lightweight and ultralightweight camping equipment at the Backpacker AGM at Stanhope on 7-8 May.

At last year's event at Bath there were about 50 tents pitched for viewing. Many cycle-campers go to this event.

what tent are you taking with you andym? i am in two minds? take my dd Trap and trave hammcok or my terra nova lager laser1, The trap and hammock are more versatile and more fun. i can put it up in tree or on the ground. i would take a spare trap to put on the floor. jsut comes in a few more kg than the tent.

I have a LaserLarge - which I bought as a reaction against a tent that was too small (at least if you were stuck in it when outside it's pouring). I keep thinking maybe I should buy something smaller and lighter (eg Vaude Power Lizard) but I'd definitely want to see it in the flesh before making a decision.

i think the laser is a great tent. i am happy with it. 1.2kg ,fast to put up, can handle the wind, But sleeping in the hammock is good, and the tarp is big. The thing is, what is it going to be like sleeping in it for 80days straight using that set up. The Tarp and travel hammock dose give me a lot of pitching opposition, I will be sleeping out in it a few more times before i go away to make my mind up. I got 32 day before i go. It all part of the planing.
