Text Boxes in Word

I've just drawn a graph in Word and I need to put a few words next to different parts of the line of the graph. I used the text box thing but the bits of text obviously appear in little boxes. Is there anyway I can get the lines of the boxes to disappear, thus leaving just the text?

What a great tip! The number of times I've gone thru' a document taking the lines off 23 text boxes one after another....right-click, slide down etc etc. f4. Cool! Ta for that.
