Despite appearances I wouldn't describe myself as a birdwatcher - I have no list and need a book to check identification - but I like looking at natural things.
(In order - arctic tern, oystercathcer, spotted flycatcher, puffin, puffin, gannet, black guillemots, bonxie (great skua), redshank, arctic skua)
I briefly saw one of these once, a lyrebird, halfway up Mt Donna Buang, which is a 1250m high mountain about 70km east of Melbourne. By the time I'd stopped my bike and got the camera out, it was gone. They're notoriously shy birds. Needless to say, this isn't my photo:
