I have to black dog on my back again (depression). Whilst I live with it it is usually managed. I went out for a ride this morning and managed less than 7 miles. I had the empty feeling that is a sure sign I am on a low. I hope it clears up soon but if not I may seems more random than usual.

Cheers. I have lived with it since my late teens but self medicated with alcohol until 2005(ish). I hate being this way but at least I recognise the signs now!

I am sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell, I suffered from this a while ago and found that for me a help was to think about all the good things that were going on, I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks. I am medicated and have a "tool box" of tricks but sometimes they don't work. I used to punch walls but at 40 my pain threshold is a little lower than it used to be .

I have just been thinking about the reasons i feel low today.Since coming back from holiday i have caught up with some gardening jobs moving soil and making a new bed.Hard work it was at my age.We had a great 72 mile ride in the Burnsall area last sat and it pissed it down on the way back.Got really soaked but we laughed that off.But what i have missed is the holiday sunshine 30* and over everyday. It really does you a power of good does a dose of sunshine. And it's in short supply here at the moment.Keep posting because there will always be someone on here to listen you are not on your own.

I have a great career behind me...

I'll pm you later, AFS. Can't at the moment as I'm using the phone.

(there's something for you to look forward to  )

Sorry to hear that man. I know the feeling though and with the impending spectre of winter moving in it's going to be a chore keeping the Black Dog at bay.
