The Bridge - Bron or Broen

Just discovered series one of the Bridge on BBC iPlayer. It is a Swedish and Danish collaboration bought by the BBC and subtitled for UK audience. It is about a pair of detectives solving a crime of a person who wants to expose something. One detective is a lady, the other a man and as the episodes progress, their professional and personal relationship unfolds (not sexually)

It’s blooming gripping, fascinating and well worth a watch. I’m only up to episode nine but have to stop myself binge watching!

I binge-watched the first three series one week...

Only just found it? Where have you been?!

It's bloody marvellous though, the best thing on telly for a while. Perfect balance of drama, suspense and some wickedly dark humour. Season 4 started a couple of weeks ago and I caught episode 1 on iplayer the other night, it was a real disappointment. I'm hopeful that it will improve.

I absolutely love the character of Saga, which is played brilliantly by Sofia Hein.

Just got to the end of series one. Enjoyed it and guessing the bits involving Anton will evolve during series 2.

I'm afraid it jumped the shark in the very first episode for me,
First episode of series one, or of a subseqeunt series? (Now trying to remember what happened in the first episodes of each - because I went straght from 1 to 2 to 3 I'm fuzzy about where the break was!)
I don't have much time for murder porn.

I don't _think_ it meets those definitions, although you may be working to a different definition!

This thread prompted me to start watching: Not exactly Morse is it.

I don’t entirely agree with Germaine Greer but I do find the depiction of violence against women in the name of entertainment somewhat problematic.

But I do enjoy The Bridge. Although I have found it becoming increasingly silly and the current series is testing my patience.

I've discovered I don't particularly like watching it in weekly episodes, having watched the first three series almost in one 'gulp'. Perhaps that way the silliness creeps up so incrementally that it doesn't matter...

I was disappointed too, and I'm a big fan, but last week (ep 4 I think?) it was back to being pretty excellent so hopefully it will continue.
While it's refreshing having some women in lead roles in TV thrillers, there seems to be a trend in having them with various phsychological/mental issues. Saga in The Bridge, Marcella, and Carrie from Homeland.

This latest series of The Bridge seems to have upped the anti a bit with Saga's Asperger's.
Most women are nuts!!

I've just watched E1 S1 and its only got a couple of weeks before its removed.
Ill not bother.
