Left home this morning in bright sunshine but within 25 minutes a complete torrential downpour, lasting just five minutes completely soaked me, then for the rest of ride sunshine again, almost dry by the time I reached work. Didn't bother with any waterproofs as it's too warm this time of year.

It arrived at a convenient time as I was nicely warmed up and the rain ensured I did get hot at all.

I had a similar, but not altogether identical thing happen. I'd headed out on my usual ride. Got a few very light sprinkles, got to my favorite LBS. While I was there, it rained. By the time they'd closed for the day it'd stopped raining and I was able to continue on my ride without the threat of rain.

Woke up to the sound of heavy rain, so planned to drive instead.

However by the time I was due to leave, the rain had stopped and sun was showing through the clouds. So quickly changed to my cycling gear and pedalled in instead. Missed by pre-ride slice of bread, though.

Woke up, cycled to work, I kept dry.

Same its been for a very long time now, can't remember the last time I got wet!

(It had rained overnight, so some surface water about)

It's the first time I've got wet while commuting for a long time.

Swindon's drainage system is so great that five minutes of rain turned some roads into lakes.

I nipped out for a haircut before as it was cracking the flags. Went upstairs, got shorts and a new t-shirt on, came back down and it'd started to rain. Went out anyway because it went off, got my mop chopped, and on the way out it properly pissed it down. I only live a quarter of a mile away but I looked like I'd been in the shower fully clothed!

Not happy considering it's July....

This mornings rain was much nicer to ride in than this afternoons headwind!

I've only been commuting by bike for a few weeks but I've already learnt to enjoy the rain.

I have missed numerous downpours lately at commuting time. Travelling between sites is a different matter. Soaked going (In Suit) and Soaked coming back. Luckily I have spare suits at each site !

Although I remember this time last year having the same weather but the downpour lasted for 10-15 mins by which at this point (pre lightweight jacket) I was shivering and soaked to the skin.

As someone much more famous than me once said "Britain doesn't have a climate, just lots of weather"
