The wife and me have moved the telly, the sofa and a couple of side box table things. So we can put the tree up in the corner.
The lights work, they are part of the tree .Good idea that. But we are not decorating it ourselves this year.
Our youngest daughter aged 16, has a new friend, she is of the Jewish faith. So she has never decorated a tree.So sometime this week she is coming round to put our family baubles on for us.I don't know what to say, because i am moved i cannot find the words to say how i am going to enjoy the moments she puts up our baubles.

Quite a lot of my daughter's friends are Jewish. It helps that our family name is Jewish and indeed I have Jewish heritage on my father's side though as the faith is passed down matrilinearly the connection broke a couple of generations ago. It's quite interesting to see how much of their faith the girls temporarily abandon on their wild nights out. They won't accept that Katy is not Jewish especially when she came top of the class in the Jewish option in the RE exam at high school.

My next door but one neighbours were Jewish and the matriarch struggled with the visual dissonance that I presented her with when we moved into our house.
